The Last Jedi: Return of the Massive Audiences

Are you a fan of star wars? Let’s face it…who isn’t.

It’s been 2 years since the release of the last Stars Wars installment.  To say this next film is highly anticipated is an understatement of epic proportions.

It’s safe to say almost everyone on the face of the planet had probably gone to see ‘The Force Awakens’ in 2015 within 3 months of it being released. Why? Because it appeals to so many age demographics for different reasons. To some it’s a reminisce of old days, to some it’s to connect with their kids by sharing some of their childhood and to others…..it’s a way of life.

‘The Force Awakens’ was the highest grossing installment in the Star Wars franchise making over $2 Billion worldwide. Much like the force… the Star Wars audience is growing. It’s rare to get such a massive following to a movie franchise; Stars Wars crosses so many boundaries and appeals to many demographics. We’re sometimes told by a client when taking a brief that ‘we want to be seen by everyone’. While the generality of that statement is food for thought in another article, it’s important to recognise ‘The Last Jedi’ is an event of major proportions. Virtually everyone will see it.

Pair this with the fact that cinema audiences are the most receptive audience of any media platform as they are happy, comfortable, fed, watered and are waiting to be entertained….they are a happy sponge. They will recall and your message long after they leave the theatre and above all will relate your message to a positive experience they’ve just had.

Can your business afford not to climb aboard this Millennium Falcon ride of a lifetime this Christmas holiday period? As Yoda says “do or do not. There is no try.”

…Plus, you don’t want to disappoint Chewy.
